ASB MAGAZINE: On Saturday 21st March, Sussex Inlet will be welcoming over 120 competitors to compete in the Surf N Turf Bushfire Appeal Charity event. The event will see 32 teams of 4 compete for major prizes in a combined surfing and golf event with 100% of the entry fees being donated to the Ocean and Earth South Coast Bushfire Appeal.
The event aims to raise over $20,000.
The surfing event will see each team compete in a tag team style event. Teams will surf against each other in an hour long heat, where each surfers best two waves will count. The team with the highest score will be announced the surfing winners.
The golf event will be nine holes played under ambrose rules. Each player takes a shot. Team will then decide which ball is best placed and all players will play from the placement. Team with the lowest score will be announced as golfing winners.
Teams will be awarded points for the position they come in each surfing and golf, with the points added together to announce an overall winner for the day.
Winners will take home major prizes and each competitor will receive a prize pack.
In addition, there will be other fun activates and giveaways during the day.
Presented by Ocean and Earth, Sheargold Development Group and Lucas Property Group the event aims to get people back down the south coast, let people know the region is open for business and raise much needed funds for the local charities.
