Main Purpose and Major Challenges of the Role

Responsible for ensuring the preparation of financial and accounting information for Rip Curl Indonesia, analyzing financial and operational results, and working with CEO and Group CFO on executing financial and operational strategies and practices.

Lead the Company’s wholesale operations to assist it in becoming “the ultimate surfing company”. This is expected to include setting the strategy in operational areas in conjunction with the CEO and Group GM Operations in the areas of Logistics, Warehouse & Distribution, Information Technology, and Commercial Support. Oversee the execution of the strategy in these areas, ensuring quality service in all functions to the Indonesian region.

Role Accountabilities:
Accountability: Financial and Statutory Reporting
Objective
  • Oversee the preparation and review of all relevant statutory accounts, tax returns and annual returns for Rip Curl Indonesia
  • Liaise with and coordinate auditors and tax advisers in relation to Indonesian companies.
  • Oversee preparation of monthly financial global reporting packs
  • Ensure all reconciliation’s are prepared monthly, reviewed and actioned.
  • Drive review of management reporting, making suggestions to executive team for improvement in profitability.
  • Present and discuss results with CEO and Group CFO, and RCID management team.
  • Ensure month end files are completed, reviewed and all month end checklists completed without exception.
Accountability: Budgets and Forecasts
Objective
  • Co-ordinate preparation of budgets and forecasts for RC Indonesia
  • Be pro-active in identifying areas of excess expenditure, and determine solutions.
  • Make recommendations in relation to capital expenditure projects, investment options, tax management, treasury, and fund management.
Accountability: Working Capital Management
Objective
  • Drive improvement in collection and management of accounts receivable.
  • Develop controls, policies and procedures over accounts receivable area including credit policy, discount programs, on-holds etc.
  • Minimise bad debts, and reduce ageing of debtors.
  • Be involved in buying process, provide 3rd party review of buying performed by purchasing team and review negotiated prices and buy levels
  • Work with National Sales Manager and Product Managers on clearance of old inventory where necessary.
Accountability: Warehouse and Distribution
Objective
  • Oversee regional warehouse and distribution for Indonesia
  • Lead manager of communications and relationships with freight providers
  • Continual process improvement in warehousing
  • Oversee freight and customerlogistics, importing product from overseas suppliers
  • Deliver to budget, looking to continuing to decrease key cost ratios over time
  • Ensure on time and accurate deliveries
  • Look at consistency in process, and loss prevention and improved efficiency opportunities

Objective
  • Oversee the IT Manager and IT dept
  • Oversee IT strategy and implementation of any new systems
Accountability: Operational support
Objective
  • Participate in weekly Exec WIP meeting, contributing to improve results of company and assist other managers in completion of their tasks.
  • Review, approval and drafting of all legal contracts with suppliers, landlords, customers etc. to be valid in Indonesia or applicable jurisdiction.
  • Plan and implement all financial or operational projects delegated by the CEO.
  • Be involved in strategic direction discussions, developing innovative thoughts and suggestions.
  • Supervise and lead General Affairs to ensure safety and completeness of all company contracts and other legal documentation
  • Supervise and lead the HR Dept to ensure crew are the top priority.

 

Qualification & Experience Requirements

What is the typical background required to competently perform the responsibilities of the job?

  • CA or CPA qualified
  • Excellent computer skills (particularly in Excel)
  • Proven project manager
  • Innovative
  • Change management skills
  • Able to demonstrate a pro-active, tenacious, committed approach to assisting RC Indonesia to meet and exceed its financial and operational goals
  • Driven to succeed in setting and implementing strategy as a key player in Rip Curl’s management team.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, manage and develop staff.
