ASB MAGAZINE: The thirty-seventh Australian Surfing Awards Incorporating the Hall of Fame will be held on May 4th at the Hotel QT on the Gold Coast. The 43rd inductee into the Hall of Fame will bookend an evening that has previously included former winners with world-famous Aussie names like Gilmore, Wilson, Wright, Fanning and Fitzgibbons (Former winners of Male and Female Surfer of The Year Awards).
These annual awards also include our very own ASB Greater Good Award given to the person or group who in the past year has given back to Australian surfing through extraordinary results in a charitable, humanitarian, environmental, or philanthropic cause. It’s our major sponsorship and one we are extremely proud of. Surfing Australia CEO Chris Mater said: ” After a tough year in 2020, we are excited to be able to move back to the traditional Australian Surfing Awards Incorporating the Hall of Fame on the Gold Coast. The event is Australian surfing’s night of nights and our yearly opportunity as a surfing community to come together and celebrate achievements in the industry.”
In 2020 these Awards took to a broadcast only format via Channel 9 and ‘The Holddown’ hosted but Vaughan and Ronnie Blakey in a pivotal moment for these iconic awards.

The Winners of both the Nikon Surf Photo of the Year Award and the Nikon Surf Video of the Year Award will receive a Nikon Z 6II including a NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 S and FTZ adapter each.
World-renowned Surf Journalist Nick Carroll continues in the role of Curator of the Australian Surfing Awards incorporating the Hall of Fame.
