Watch this moving tribute to Pierre Agnes by current WCT surfer Jeremy Flores (in French). Pierre had been a father figure to Jeremy and the impact of the disappearance of Pierre, who was lost at sea, is now beginning to reverberate across the global Boardriders family. Hundreds turned out to celebrate the life of Pierre Agnes, in the Quiksilver CEO’s hometown of Capbreton, France including industry heavyweights Bob McKnight, Greg Healy, Dave Tanner, Garry Wall, Craig Stevenson, Juan Gonzalez Vega, Harry Hodge and Stephen Bell. Surfers Kelly Slater, Jeremy Flores; Leonardo Fioravanti; Ross Clarke Jones; Tom Carroll and Miky Picon who were amongst the 1000’s of people that flew from around the globe to attend the service. Former Quiksilver President of Americas, Craig Stevenson was amongst the speakers paying tribute to modern day ‘heart and soul’ of The Mountain and the Wave. Celebrations of Pierre Agnes enormous contribution to the industry are expected to take place at the forthcoming Quiksilver and Roxy Pro’s on the Gold Coast held at Snapper Rocks March 11-22.
