ASB MAGAZINE : The 2019 Rip Curl Awards Gala was a night to remember, with awards going to those who showed outstanding performance throughout the year. Held at the RACV Resort in Torquay, Victoria, the birthplace of Rip Curl and the home of its global Headquarters. Over 250 employees came dressed to impress for the 2019 Rip Curl Awards Gala, an annual event held to honour star employees across the Rip Curl group.

Voted by the crew in the weeks leading up to the event, 11 awards were presented across the company – from the Best Newcomer to Creativity and Innovation, all the way through to the coveted CEO Award.

The winners from the evening are as follows:

The Customer Award – Congratulations to Dan Jenkins

For the crew member deemed to have shown an intense focus on our customers and exceeding the expectations of all those Rip Curl customers on The Search.

The Creativity and Innovation Award – Congratulations to Jarrah McDiarmid

For the crew member deemed to have shown willingness to go beyond the boundaries of conventional thinking and practice in all that we do.

The Committed Crew Award – Congratulations to Adam Sharp

For the crew member deemed to have shown they are living their Search in their day to day work life while making a powerful contribution to the future of Rip Curl.

The Community and Environment Award – Congratulations to Mark Flanagan

For the crew member deemed to have shown to be actively contributing to our local community especially with respect to maintaining the local environment and/or providing a service to the local or Australian surfing community.

The Honesty and Integrity Award – Congratulations to Bek Best

For the crew member deemed to have shown outstanding honest and ethical behaviour in all
that they do.

The Best Newcomer Award – Congratulations to Graeme Innis

For the crew member who has quickly shown professional excellence while understanding and living the company principles and values – winner must have been with the company no longer than 12 months.

The Retail MVP Award – Congratulations to Tarryn Munro

Retail crew person of the year. Most outstanding and consistent performance from a retail crew person, on the frontline representing the brand, exceeding customer expectations and being an all-round retail superstar.

The Ozmosis MVP Award – Congratulations to Sammi Baldwin
