ASB MAGAZINE: Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and Surfing NSW are proud to announce a one-year partnership that will see Volkswagen become a key supporter of the NSW governing body for surfing.  As part of the alliance, Volkswagen has become a corporate partner of Surfing NSW and will sponsor a variety of Surfing NSW events over the forthcoming calendar year.

The partnership will see Volkswagen cars in action at all NSW surfing events, including the Vissla Sydney Surf Pro, The Port Stephens Pro, the Havaianas NSW Grommet Titles and all events on the Vissla NSW Pro Surf Series.

Surfing NSW will also be equipped with three new Volkswagen Amaroks, a Multivan and a Crafter van as part of the deal.

Ryan Davies, Director of Commercial Vehicles stated:

“Surfing has been a part of the Volkswagen story for countless generations – from the very first Kombi van, right through to our current generation Amarok, Multivan, and new Caddy Beach, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has sun, sand and surf running in its veins,” said Davies.

Nick Reid, Marketing Manager, Commercial Vehicles added:

“Partnering with Surfing NSW is a great fit for the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles brand as it gives us an opportunity to get behind such a vital part of our Australian heritage, while at the same time providing Surfing NSW with a range of our vehicles that are perfectly suited to life at the beach,” said Reid.

Luke Madden, Surfing NSW CEO expressed his excitement at the newly formed partnership.

“We are delighted to have signed this new partnership with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. As some of the most credible vehicles in the world, we feel that our events and programs will be enhanced by this new partnership,” said Madden

About Volkswagen:
Volkswagen was born in 1937 of a desire to create a vehicle that could bring German engineering to the masses – the ‘People’s Car’ – and this is a position that we have maintained to this day.

The company hit the open road in Australia in 1953 with the arrival of the very first Beetle. Since then, it has clocked up a lot of kilometers and passed many milestones – from the Passat winning Wheels Magazine car of the year in 1974, and on to selling more than 600,000 vehicles across the country.

Volkswagen is proud of its history in Australia and is focused on developing new models, services and technologies to help Australians enjoy their driving experience. Volkswagen Group Australia employees hundreds of Australians in its head office in Sydney, and thousands more across its nation-wide dealer network.
