ASB MAGAZINE: nudie has expanded their support of Surfing Australia, taking naming rights to the national SurfGroms program supported by Rip Curl, for the next three years. nudie ‘creators of good’ currently support key Surfing Australia Sport Development programs such as the nudie Australian Boardriders Battle, nudie Australian Adaptive Surfing Titles, Surf for Life and the Solider on Surf Therapy Program.

Today’s official launch marks the eighth season that the nudie SurfGroms program supported by Rip Curl has been run across the nation.

“Surfing Australia is stoked to have nudie expand their support into the SurfGroms program,” said nudie ambassador, 7 times World Champion and Surfing Australia Chair, Layne Beachley.

“Over the last two years, they have played a significant role in the success of our benchmark programs and events such as the Australian Boardriders Battle and the Australian Adaptive Surfing Titles. Their ethos of having fun and doing good is perfectly aligned with the objectives of the SurfGroms program and we are excited to work with nudie to get more kids into the water in a safe and fun environment.”

The program continues to strengthen moving into the new season, with Mick Fanning Softboards also coming on board and each child signing up to the program will receive a great Rip Curl merchandise pack including a Rip Curl backpack, Rip Curl pencil case, program logbook, nudie SurfGroms rash-vest, nudie brekkies, 2XP 50+for Sport and Woolworths Fresh Food Kids Discovery Tour brochure.

“Partnering with SurfGroms isn’t just about developing the next generation of surf champs. We are passionate about kids feeling comfortable and confident in the water, so they can enjoy Australia’s beaches safely. Creating good and having fun is what nudie is all about and this translates perfectly to the opportunity with SurfGroms” said nudie Senior Brand Manager Kate Baskin.

Since nudie SurfGroms was launched in October 2011, more than 70,000 Australian children have experienced the thrill of surfing for the first time, and registrations for the latest programs are now open, just in time for summer.

nudie SurfGroms offers youngsters aged 5-12 years old an opportunity to learn to surf while developing strong ocean awareness and beach safety skills at a very influential period in their lives, that they will enjoy and embrace for a lifetime.

Coinciding with the season eight launch is a new nudie SurfGroms website powered by Fareharbor, designed specifically to make becoming a nudie SurfGrom and surfer for life, easy.

nudie SurfGroms programs are available through the Surfing Australia Surf Schools Network with more than 70 delivery partners around the country. Parents can register their children through the website – www.surfgroms.com – which will provide contact details for their closest delivery centre.

Surfing Australia’s Acting CEO Jake White said, “We are proud to be launching season eight of nudie SurfGroms with the aim of starting another 10,000 groms on their lifelong surfing journey. Surfing Australia is also hugely excited to welcome nudie on board as the naming rights partner of the nudie SurfGroms Program. nudie is a fantastic brand that shares our values and their support will be crucial in the programs continued success and we thank them for their expanded commitment to Surfing Australia.”

nudie SurfGroms is backed by major support sponsors Rip Curl along with Woolworths, Hyundai, Mick Fanning Softboards, 2XP 50+ for Sport, Surfing Australia and Sport Australia.

About nudie:

nudie’s mission: to create good. And while it sounds simple, it’s actually not that easy!

Because for us this means a real food that is simple – real, quantifiable ingredients with no nasties.

And it’s harder than you think, as everything has to be free from concentrates, preservatives, colours, and artificial flavours.

With Australia’s #1 Juice (we do OJ very, very well!!) and now in Liquid Breakfast & Yoghurt – there really is nothing we can’t do.

Most importantly we just aim to have some fun, and do some good.
