ASB MAGAZINE: Nikon, Surfing Australia and Brand Ambassador Stephanie Gilmore, have extended their long-standing partnership until 2021. Nikon will continue as the naming rights sponsor of the Nikon Surf Photo and Surf Video of the Year Awards categories as part of the Australian Surfing Awards Incorporating the Hall of Fame, including the Nikon Top 20 Surf Photo of the Year display. Nikon Australia Marketing Manager, John Young,  said “The Australian surfing community is represented by some of the most talented photographers, filmmakers and athletes in the world. We are continuously inspired by their perception of light and storytelling and are excited to celebrate their passion and creativity through the Nikon Surf Photo of the Year and Surf Video of the Year awards.”

“As we extend and build upon our partnership with Stephanie Gilmore and Surfing Australia, we are proud to showcase moments of Australia’s world-famous surfing community. Previous winners of these awards have captured breathtaking moments and Nikon looks forward to supporting the next generation of photographers and filmmakers as they pursue their vision.”

The winners of the Nikon Surf Photo of the Year and Nikon Surf Video of the Year will each receive a new Nikon Z7, along with the Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/4 S and FTZ adapter.

“It’s been fantastic to have Nikon supporting the country’s top surf photographers and videographers over the last seven years via the Nikon Surf Photo and Video of the Year awards and we look forward to collaborating with them further to bolster the respective awards.”

Further bolstering the successful partnership, six-time World Surf League (WSL) Women’s World Champion Stephanie Gilmore has also resigned as a Nikon ambassador.
