ASB MAGAZINE: The 2019 SAE Group Australian Surf Championships will be bolstered by three new partners in Tweed Shire Council, Gold Coast Airport and Solo Resource Recovery. The eighteen-day event will again be held on the beautiful Tweed Coast, utilising its many beach, reef and point break setups to crown Australian Champions.
“Tweed Shire Council is very pleased to be supporting the 2019 Australian Surf Championships, an event which adds to the vibrancy of the region and promotes positive interaction with our internationally significant natural environment,” Mayor of Tweed, Councillor Katie Milne said.
Gold Coast Airport Chief Operating Officer Marion Charlton said the airport team was excited about being involved in a world-class event, staged on the spectacular Tweed Coast.
“As the gateway to northern New South Wales and the Gold Coast, we are right behind high-profile events like this, which showcase our beautiful region and bring visitors to the area,” she said.
“We look forward to welcoming competitors and spectators through the gates of Gold Coast Airport for the event this August.”
More than 500 competitors from across the country set to compete in four disciplines over seventeen days of world-class surfing.
“Solo Resource Recovery is very proud to be associated with such a great sporting and community event here on the Tweed Coast. We’re all looking forward to witnessing the world-class skills of our surfers competing in such a great part of the world,” said Commercial Business Manager, Reece Daly.
