One of the great pleasures we’ve had over the years was to chat Yvon Chouinard, the legendary founder of Patagonia.

In our interview, Yvon admits that at times gets pessimistic about the fate of the planet. He says with a sobering tone that there’s just no reason to be optimistic because all the indicators are so bad. But, he says, “I’m a happy person, and I’ve just accepted the idea that that’s the way it is. As long as I’m involved in trying to do something about it, it’s all right. The cure for depression is action.

It was just one sentence, in an hour-long interview, but it really struck a chord with me and I thought it worthy of sharing the story again . The original article was first commissioned by us, but written by current Patagonia Brand Manager, Sean Doherty and appeared in Australasian Surf Business magazine
