ASB MAGAZINE: The Life Is Better When You Surf® Scholarship Program give s kids across the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Costa Rica, South Africa the chance to get a step up with their surfing and schooling. Global Surf Industries and Partners will award $1000 to be used for educational purposes and two surfboards to each scholarship recipient. This is an amazing opportunity to take their surfing and education to the next level.
The Life Is Better When You Surf® (LIBWYS) Scholarship Program is focused on surfing enjoyment and reaching out to help students take the next step towards reaching their potential. LIBWYS Scholarship recipients will showcase the positive values of surfing among their peers and in their community. Scholarships are not awarded on competitive surfing achievement, but on encouraging kids towards a bright future in surfing and education.
The 2018/19 Life Is Better When You Surf Scholarships will go to:
16 recipients in USA and 2 recipients in Costa Rica – applications open 15 July – 16 September 2018.
10 recipients in Australia, 4 recipients in New Zealand and 2 recipients in South Africa applications open 15 December – 17 February 2019.
Are you 12-15 years old and love surfing and school? Do you want two new surfboards and $1000 towards a school trip, new equipment or a computer? We’d love to hear from you!
There are a couple of things you’ll need to prepare before applying:
- A short essay (maximum 200 words) on why Life Is Better When You Surf
- A short video or photo essay showing us why you deserve this scholarship
- A letter of recommendation from your Teacher, Coach or Mentor
- And of course, permission from your Parent/Guardian to apply for this scholarship
