May 2020 Digital Edition #92

Introducing the Option Evo, the newest style out of the Globe Heritage Lab. The Option Evo represents a modern take on the original popular Option shoe from 1998. Re-imagined on a new Nitrolite™ outsole focussed on comfort, the Option Evo celebrates our 90s skate shoe heritage with new technologies and materials of today.

The original Option came from the same early stable of Globe’s original skate shoes including Chet Thomas and Rodney Mullen’s Pro shoe models, which all took the boardsports world by storm in the late 1990s.

Using a heritage silhouette inspired from past DNA and infused with today’s technologies, the new Option Evo features soft easy on and off semi-sock tongue construction, rubber toe-cap and flared side skirts for durability, TPU shank for structure and a Nitrolite™ EVA midsole. The Option Evo comes in three colourways; Grey/White made from a shaved suede, lycra and mesh construction, Black/Black from a full grain leather, lycra and mesh construction and Blue/Grey/Black from an action nubuck, lycra and mesh construction.

A concept in which we re-visit meaningful styles from our archive of 20+ years of footwear design and re-interpret the designs with a modern eye and the manufacturing capabilities of today. Proven technology, innovation and durability – trademark qualities of every Heritage style. Globe hand picks every component ensuring quality and durability. From foams to reinforcements, eyelets to laces, every detail is meticulously considered down to the very last stitch.

After 10 years of design, production and distribution of third party brands in Australia with Hardcore Enterprises, the Hill brothers created a global boardsports brand of their own, first with shoes for skaters and surfers in 1994 and then with apparel and hardgoods for the broader market. Today, the same crew of skaters, surfers and snowboarders that started the Globe brand has grown to an international network of designers and riders that are united by boardsports, street culture, media, design and film.

Globe is for the riders of concrete, oceans and mountains – modern explorers of the Globe.
