ASB MAGAZINE: World Surf League (WSL) Asia Pacific  announced the renewal of its partnership with Bond University will continue through to the end of 2023,  thanks to a new agreement extension between the two organisations.  As the Official Higher Education Partner of the World Surf League Australia, Bond University students have the unique opportunity to take part in student placements with industry engagement across multiple faculties at one of the most exciting organisations in world sport.

“World Surf League is proud to be continuing what has already been such a successful partnership with Bond University,” said WSL APAC General Manager Andrew Stark. “From our perspective, the WSL’s APAC team along with the greater global organisation have already benefited greatly from having Bond’s impressive and bright young students offer their fresh perspectives during internships in the region. We even have a former Bond intern as a valued full time member of our commercial team which is a great show of the success of the program for both WSL and Bond. We’d like to thank Bond University and their students for the ongoing support and look forward to the continued success of the partnership.”

Along with the World Surf League student placement opportunities for Bond University students continuing, Bond will have brand presence at all WSL events in Australia along with content collaborations reaching global audiences. WSL will also be offering exclusive and unique site tours and on the ground experiences for high school students at WSL events.

Bond University Vice President of Future Students, Cheryl Jolliffe, said the partnership with WSL reinforced the University’s commitment to industry engagement and providing students with unique and valuable experiences that would help them thrive in their chosen professions.

“We are thrilled to be teaming-up with WSL as their Official Higher Education Partner for another two years,” Jolliffe said. “Through the ongoing collaboration with WSL we are able to offer students exclusive opportunities to gain real-world skills and develop career pathways into one of the world’s fastest-growing sports. We see a clear example of this with our inaugural WSL partnership intern, Rachael Tilly, who studied Sports Management at Bond and is now Partnerships Coordinator at the WSL.”
