ASB MAGAZINE: Boardriders, Inc. recently announced that it would donate 100% of all profits earned from its Australian e- commerce sites over the January 11-12 weekend to Australia bushfire relief efforts. In addition, many Boardriders employees have donated their own money to these efforts through an internal fundraising campaign. Boardriders also announced that it will also match the full amount raised by its employees.

Based on feedback from its Australian employees, Boardriders has decided to direct the combined funds to the following areas – wildlife, mental health and revegetation. The organizations it will donate to are:

Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service Inc. (WIRES) – This is the largest non-profit wildlife rescue and rehabilitation charity in Australia, and it specializes in caring for native Australian animals. To find out more about WIRES:

Headspace: Headspace provides mental health support for Australian youth. They are also providing emergency assistance for those dealing with the trauma of facing this natural disaster. To find out more about

Greening Australia: Greening Australia’s role in the bushfire recovery effort includes the development and coordination of a 10-year native seed and plant supply strategy for landscape restoration, recovery and resilience in bushfire impacted areas and other vulnerable landscapes across Australia. Given that bushfire recovery will require continued long-term support, in addition to the relief efforts outlined above, Boardriders and its individual brands will continue to explore other initiatives to aid devasted communities and ecosystems. The details will follow in the coming months.
